VISIT BRUNEI YEAR 2027 PRE-LAUNCH CEREMONY UNVEILS OFFICIAL LOGO, MASCOTS AND CAMPAIGN IDENTITY

The Pre-Launch Ceremony of Visit Brunei Year 2027 (VBY2027) was held yesterday evening at Jerudong Park Garden, marking the start of the promotional tourism campaign.

The event was graciously attended by Duli Yang Teramat Mulia Paduka Seri Pengiran Muda ‘Abdul Mateen ibni Kebawah Duli Yang Maha Mulia Paduka Seri Baginda Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Muizzaddin Waddaulah, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Isteri Anisha Rosnah binti Adam.

Upon arrival, His Royal Highness and Yang Amat Mulia were received by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr. Haji Abdul Manaf bin Haji Metussin, Coordinating Minister for Economic Policies and Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, Yang Berhormat Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Shamhary bin Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Mustapha, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, and Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi bin Haji Mohamad, Minister at The Prime Minister’s Office (Civil Service Governance) as Co-Chairs of the Visit Brunei Year 2027 Steering Committee, and Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Haji Erywan bin Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Haji Mohd. Yusof, Minister of Foreign Affairs II.

The ceremony commenced with welcoming remarks by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr. Haji Abdul Manaf bin Haji Metussin, Coordinating Minister for Economic Policies and Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, in his capacity as Co-Chair of the Visit Brune Year 2027 Steering Committee. In his remarks, Yang Berhormat highlighted the significance of Visit Brunei Year 2027 as a whole-of-nation initiative aimed at strengthening the tourism sector, supporting economic diversification and showcasing Brunei Darussalam’s unique identity to the world. Yang Berhormat also emphasised the importance of strong collaboration between government agencies, industry players, local communities and strategic partners in ensuring the success of the campaign, while encouraging all stakeholders to play an active role in creating memorable visitor experiences and showcasing the very best of Brune Darussalam to regional and international audiences.

A key highlight of the evening was the officiating ceremony by His Royal Highness, during which the official Visit Brunei Year 2027 logo and mascots – “Awang” and “Dayang” were unveiled, marking the commencement of promotional efforts leading up to the national tourism campaign across domestic and international platforms.

Guests were then presented with a special showcase featuring the official Visit Brune Year 2027 theme song and destination video, celebrating the nation’s rich culture, pristine natural environment and diverse tourism experiences. The showcase culminated with a spectacular drone performance portraying the Visit Brunei Year 2027 logo, mascots and several iconic attractions and landmarks of Brunei Darussalam.

His Royal Highness and Yang Amat Mulia also visited the Visit Brunei Year 2027 Calendar of Events Showcase, which highlighted the Diamond Jubilee Celebration a s one of the signature events of the year, alongside a preview of key tourism, cultural, sporting, lifestyle and business events planned throughout 2027. The comprehensive calendar is currently being developed and will be promoted through both domestic and international channels, offering compelling reasons for visitors to discover and experience Brunei Darussalam throughout the year.

The pre-launch ceremony was also attended by Yang Mulia Pengiran Datin Seri Paduka Hajah Zety Sufina binti Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Sani, Deputy Minister of Finance, Deputy Co-Chair of Visit Brunei Year 2027 Steering Committee, as well as members of the Visit Brunei Year 2027 Steering Committee, ambassadors and high commissioners, strategic partners, tourism stakeholders, and members of the media.

The event marked the beginning of a series of domestic and international promotional campaign initiatives leading up to 2027. Following the pre-launch, Brunei Darussalam will continue its marketing efforts at Travel Meet Asia 2026 in Jakarta, Indonesia from 23 to 24 June 2026, where Brunei Darussalam has been appointed as the Official Destination Partner. The event will serve as an important platform to introduce Visit Brunei Year 2027 to regional and international tourism stakeholders, while strengthening partnerships and promoting Brunei Darussalam as a preferred travel destination i n Southeast Asia.

The Visit Brunei Year 2027 reflects the Government of His Majesty The Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s continued commitment to strengthening the tourism sector as a key contributor to economic diversification while enhancing Brunei Darussalam’s visibility and competitiveness within the global tourism landscape.
